A spare 5.8GHz 200mW TX5823 arrived from BangGood yesterday – 7 working days since the order, not bad for the festive season. I assume it is the new 3.5 – 5.5V model since it has a different number (TX5823-120228) to my original 3.3V one. The BangGood documentation is confusing however, as it reports Vin of both 3.3V and 3.5-5.5V. The Vtx is for a #16 V2 camera plus VTx daughter board configuration - initially for my V262 quad, but movable to any other aircraft such as my AXN Clouds Fly (see photos) Initially I hooked it up to a single 1S 150mAh LiPo at 4.05 volts to Vin with my #16 V2 keychain camera providing video in, and antenna out to a cloverleaf antenna. I didn’t connect any of the channel selection pads so the VTx should have defaulted to channel 8, 5945 MHz for this model. I set my RC305 VRx to channel 8 and switched everything on. No joy, and the TX5823 was heating up rapidly, as has been reported elsewhere. I ran through the RC305 channels quickly and on channel 5, theoretically 5885 MHz, I got a picture on my 4.3” LCD monitor . I don’t know which device is on the correct channel. Since the VTx was heating up so much I decided to try it on 3.3V. This required an input of 2S into my AMS1117 3.3V regulator to produce 3.3V (it didn’t work on 1S) and this got extremely hot , so I decided to return to 1S with no regulator and to cool the VTx with a heatsink and the quad prop blast. An excellent, light VTx, which the V262 can lift easily at an AUW of 238gms.

low-cost, small and lightweight audio and video transmitter. due to its size and weight - can be used by small aircraft and quadrocopter. Plant manufacturer claims that the power of the transmitter enough 1s battery. but I soldered a stabilizer. the results of using this transmitter you can see here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AwNCJyQnHdw
